VORTEX Champ XXL / Elektro … top performer in XXL format!

We have exchanged the short wingtips of the VORTEX for larger wingtip panels – the rest of the model remains unchanged. The XXL extensions provide a wingspan of 5000mm. The aerodynamically optimised wingtips further enhance the already phenomenal thermal soaring characteristics.

This extraordinary 5m F3J ‘er not only challenges the lightest thermals, but with its sufficient reserve strength it makes exuberant descents and cheeky antics almost mandatory! If that is not enough, we also now offer the VORTEX COMBO CHAMP – the ultimate cure for VORTEX addicts. As a cure for VORTEX addiction, take one model and make into 2 or even 3 versions. How does it work? That's easy!

• Sunday morning – the conditions are not as good as expected. Rig the Vortex in 4.3m mode on the electric fuselage for some "artificial-soaring" and a little extreme flying practice to get your hand in.
• Sunday 12 Noon – the Sun is burning down and the birds are soaring on the rising thermals. Reconfigure for 4.3m or 5.0m mode on the glider fuselage and launch out towards the horizon. Time to thrill your club-mates with precision 4 and 8 point rolls and speed manoeuvres – just because you can!
• Sunday afternoon 14:00 – a summer storm threatens and the wind freshens. Install the short wing tips, add 1400 gm of ballast and launch into the stiffening breeze and enjoy the ultimate adrenaline rush!
• Sunday 14:30 – time to keep dry and wait for the storm to blow over.
• Sunday 18:00 – what has the rain left behind in its path? Remove the short tips and the ballast and convert to full XXL mode for ultimate evening thermal sniffing. It’s very weak but this huge F3J model makes the best of the conditions and is soon soaring high above the slope. “Hey you little HLG’s down there, do you dare to join me”?
